Root Canal Treatment

Teeth are the most undervalued part of our body, but we choose to have them removed rather than save them and you will end up with severe problems with your bite.

Root canal treatment is almost always the result of a deferred filling or a neglected cavity. Occasionally, unanticipated cavities can progress very quickly between dental examinations to result in a root canal treatment. It is often the only solution that will work to save a tooth.

Our team of highly skilled dentists and state-of-the art technology equipment can help save your tooth and maintain your natural tooth in its place rather than having it taken out and facing a permanent gap for life.

Root Canal Treatment (RCT), also known as endodontic therapy, is a procedure designed to save a tooth that is severely infected or damaged, rather than extracting it. It addresses issues within the tooth’s pulp (the inner soft tissue) and roots, helping to eliminate pain and preserve the tooth’s natural structure.

The goal of root canal treatment is to remove the infected or inflamed pulp tissue, clean and disinfect the inside of the tooth, and seal it to prevent further infection. This allows the tooth to retain its natural place, thereby maintaining the alignment of your smile and functional bite. You may need a Crown to protect the weakened preserved tooth, our dentist will discuss with you if this is necessary.

Alternatives to Root Canal Treatment

Tooth Extraction

The main alternative to a root canal is tooth extraction, which would then require a replacement solution like a dental implant, bridge, or partial denture. However, replacing a natural tooth is often more complex and costly.

Apicoectomy

In cases where traditional root canal therapy doesn’t fully resolve the infection, a surgical procedure called an apicoectomy may be required to remove the tip of the root and surrounding tissue.
