A confident smile starts with teeth you’re happy to show off.
Veneers are one of the most effective ways to correct chipped, discoloured, worn or unevenly shaped teeth, often in as little as one or two visits, without the time commitment of orthodontics.
At Fendalton Dental, we offer both porcelain veneers and composite veneers, so you’re never pushed toward the more expensive option if a simpler one will get you the same result.
Our dentists will assess your teeth, talk through what’s actually achievable, and recommend the option that suits your smile, lifestyle and budget.
From fixing a single chipped front tooth to planning a full smile makeover, we’ll walk you through your options at a relaxed, no-pressure consultation first.
To help make treatment more accessible, we offer easy 3 to 6 month payment plans, and accept Q Card and Afterpay.

Porcelain vs Composite Veneers: Which Is Right for You?
Both types of veneer are thin, tooth-coloured shells bonded to the front surface of your teeth. The difference comes down to material, longevity, and how they’re made.
There’s no single “better” option. It depends on your goals, your teeth, and how you want to invest. We’ll give you our honest recommendation at your consultation.
Composite Veneers
They're a great option for smaller corrections, single teeth, or if you'd like a more affordable way to trial a new look before committing to porcelain.
With good care, composite veneers typically last around 5 to 7 years, and if you're ever unhappy with the result, they can be adjusted or replaced without permanently altering your tooth.
Porcelain Veneers
Well looked-after porcelain veneers can last 10 to 15 years, and often longer.
How Veneers Work at Fendalton Dental
Consultation & Smile Design
We start by examining your teeth and discussing what you’d like to change: colour, shape, spacing, or all three. This is also when we confirm whether composite or porcelain is the better fit, and take photos or a digital scan to plan your new smile.
Preparation
For porcelain veneers, a very thin layer of enamel is gently removed from the front of the tooth to make room for the veneer, usually with little to no discomfort, and local anaesthetic if needed. Composite veneers generally require little or no preparation at all.
Impressions & Temporaries (Porcelain Only)
We take a precise digital impression of your prepared teeth and send it to our trusted dental lab, where your veneers are custom crafted to match your desired shade and shape. You’ll wear a set of natural-looking temporary veneers in the meantime, so there’s no gap in your smile while you wait.
Bonding & Fitting
Once your porcelain veneers arrive, we check the fit, shape and colour before permanently bonding them into place. Composite veneers, by contrast, are built up in layers and shaped chairside in the same visit, with no second appointment required.
Final Review
We finish with a final polish and bite check, making small adjustments as needed so your new veneers feel just as comfortable as they look.
Are Veneers Right for Me?
Veneers are commonly used to address:
- Chipped, cracked or worn front teeth
- Discolouration or staining that hasn’t responded to whitening
- Small gaps between teeth
- Slightly uneven, small, or misshapen teeth
- Minor misalignment, as a faster alternative to orthodontics
Veneers work best on teeth that are otherwise healthy and structurally sound. If a tooth has significant decay or damage, a crown may be the more appropriate long-term solution, and we’ll always tell you if that’s the case rather than fitting a veneer that won’t last.
Veneers also pair well with teeth whitening as part of a broader smile makeover. Many patients whiten their natural teeth first, then match veneers to their new, brighter shade.
Cost & Payment Options
Veneer pricing depends on the material, how many teeth are involved, and the amount of preparation required. We’ll give you an exact, itemised quote after your consultation, with no obligation to proceed.
To help make treatment more accessible, we offer easy 3 to 6 month payment plans, and accept Q Card and Afterpay. See our Finance & Prices page for full details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most patients feel little to no discomfort. If any enamel needs to be removed for porcelain veneers, we numb the area first, the same way we would for a filling. Composite veneers usually require no anaesthetic at all.
Porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years, and sometimes considerably longer, with good oral hygiene. Composite veneers generally last 5 to 7 years and can be repaired or refreshed more easily along the way.
For minor gaps or slight misalignment, veneers can create the appearance of straighter teeth much faster than orthodontics. For more significant alignment issues, we’ll usually recommend orthodontic treatment instead, and we’ll be upfront if that’s the better option for you.
Yes, that’s the goal. We take time over shade, shape and translucency so your veneers blend in with your surrounding teeth rather than standing out as obviously “done.”
Composite veneers can usually be completed in a single visit. Porcelain veneers take two appointments a couple of weeks apart, to allow time for your custom veneers to be made.
Yes, and we often recommend it. Whitening your natural teeth first means your veneers can be matched to your brightest achievable shade for a more even, natural-looking result.
